Ups and Down Southwest
- Down Syndrome Support Organisation
- We are intending to set up a a new fortnightly Youth Club and community centre in Vallis Road, Frome, BA11 3EF on alternative Mondays from 5-6:45pm.
- It will be open to all young people who have Downs Syndrome and are aged between 11 and 18 years.
- We have already set up very successful youth groups for our teenagers in both Bridgwater and Yeovil and are looking to provide the same for young people who have DS and live in Somerset and BANES but find Frome a closer and easier venue to get to.
- The groups are intended to enable our young people to have a good time and enjoy a 'Youth Club' which meets their needs, offering activities as well opportunity to chill out and build friendships.
- There will be a £5.00 subs fee payable each session and the youngsters will have use of the wide facilities at the centre including football and/or basketball in the big sports hall, chill-out activities in the social area, and some time outside if the weather's nice! They will also enjoy the support of two Ups and Downs youth workers and some student volunteers from Norton Radstock College.
