Intervening with notable impact - what makes a difference?
This is a day for teachers wanting to take their teaching to a new level. A chance to explore the specific teacher behaviours and language that are most effective at the point of interaction with the learner, so that learning is deep and profound.
Aimed at practising teachers in primary classrooms who are keen to improve the art and craft of their trade. This is a course that will take a close, practical look at key elements of this essential skill. It will draw widely from current research that has increased knowledge and understanding of how learners learn best, and what makes the critical difference at the highest level in the classroom. |

The learning gap between good and outstanding - a chasm or a cavity?
This is a one day course aimed at teachers who want to improve their ability to regularly provide very high quality learning opportunities for pupils.
Based on the idea that what teachers know about how pupils learn best is not always reflected in the type of lessons that their pupils experience daily, the course will examine how the key elements of teacher input, quality activities and formative assessment work together to effect quality learning and real progress.
It will clearly demonstrate how often minor adjustments to existing strategies and techniques that teachers already use can close “the learning gap”, leading to outcomes that are outstanding more often than good. |
