Fosse Way School puts on conferences and training events
for the Special Education sector throughout the academic
year. Many of these will be offered to other schools
through the new Multi-Agency Support Team and we often
run courses and support groups for parents and carers
as well as professionals. Please check back frequently
for updates on various courses and twilight sessions.
We also have as part of our team, staff who are able
to deliver SCIP training (proactive, active and reactive strategies for behaviour management)
for the LEA. If you are interested in this, please contact
the school with details.
We can also offer "Online Inset Training" packages and Sense (Using ICT to support learning) training. Please follow this link for further information.
Every year Fosse Way School runs a TEACCH conference
- a structured learning approach to teaching students
on the autistic spectrum. Professor Gary Mesibov from
University of North Carolina comes over to Fosse Way
to deliver the training once a year.
Fosse Way also collaborates with other Further and Higher Education institutions. Bath University has a qualification in Special needs which has been devloped in conjunction with Fosse Way School. You can find detail of the course here
